Samsung Reveals Galaxy S III

Samsung is in full force in London at the moment unvealing their latest flagship, the Galaxy S III. Key specs include a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, 8 megapixel camera with special modes like burst shot, HSPA+ with LTE coming in summer, NFC support, 8.6 MM thickness, and a gigantic battery that Samsung promises will mean the end of battery consumption worries. Curiously enough, something not mentioned was the processor.

The Galaxy SIII appears to be running a version of TouchWiz called TouchWiz Nature UX designed specifically for Android 4.0. The new version of TouchWiz adds a lot of new features, but does retain a lot of the design language from older versions of TouchWiz

There’s always a ace in the hole on today’s flagship handsets, and Samsung’s happens to be eye tracking and advanced voice commands: the Galaxy S III will apparently be able to track your eye movement and react accordingly. Furthermore, they take the “Voice Talk” function found on the Galaxy S II to a whole new level with S Voice, a feature that will immediately draw comparisons to Apple’s Siri.

Like previous Galaxy S handsets, Samsung’s going global, with availability in 145 countries and the support of 295 carriers. Availablilty is expected to start fast, at the end of May.

  • 16/32/64GB Capacities (MicroSD Expansion available)
